Hygienist 4 Hounds, LLC!
Welcome to Hygienist4Hounds, LLC, where we prioritize the dental health of your furry companions. As pet lovers ourselves, we understand the integral role oral care plays in the well-being of dogs. Just like humans, maintaining good dental hygiene in dogs is crucial for their overall health and longevity. Poor oral health can lead to a myriad of issues including bad breath, tooth decay, gum disease, and even systemic health problems such as heart disease and kidney issues. Through our dedicated services, we aim to not only keep your dogs' smiles bright but also safeguard their overall healthcare, ensuring they lead happy, healthy lives by your side.
Meet Your Hygienist!
Hi, I'm Susan!
I am a Certified Registered Dental Hygienist. I have a BS in Dental Hygiene (BSDH from Central Michigan University) I have 32 years of experience. I have active dental licenses in Florida and Michigan. I also am Certified for Local Anesthesia from University of Michigan. However, I am not planning on using local anesthetic on the pets. You can be assured that your pet will be safe with me. I have 4 of my own.
What makes our business different from the Veterinary Clinic?
Veterinary technicians and other businesses offering pet teeth cleaning services often undergo training and certification, typically focusing on using tools like the cavitron (ultrasonic) to remove tartar and stains from pets' teeth. While this may seem straightforward, mastering the proper techniques takes years of experience beyond becoming a licensed dental hygienist. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, we possess the expertise to utilize both hand instruments and the cavitron with precision, aided by our tactile sensitivity to detect calcified tartar below the gumline. Recognizing the distinction between tooth anatomy, tartar, and decay through touch is crucial in effectively addressing periodontal disease, preventing bone loss, tooth loss, and potential infections in pets. Just like in humans, untreated gum disease in pets can lead to systemic health issues, as bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream, potentially causing heart problems and other complications. Unlike humans, pets cannot communicate pain, underscoring the importance of skilled dental care. With years of training and practice, I am confident in my ability to safely and comfortably remove disease-causing plaque and bacteria, promoting your pet's overall health and freshening their breath.
